Microsoft are currently rolling out another feature for Teams. As part of Roadmap ID 51552, Read Receipts will now be available for Teams users.
As the name implies Read receipts will enable to see if your message has been seen.
So, what can you expect to see? When a message has been sent a small check mark will appear on the bottom right of the message. Once the message has been read this check mark will change to an eye icon.
You can choose to receive read receipts or not by turning off the function in your client settings under your privacy settings. If you turn this off you will no longer see Read receipts for messages you send.
This feature is enabled by default but admins can amend this in Messaging Policies.
This is done within the Teams Admin Center under messaging policies and will allow you to turn on/off read receipts for all users or allow users to decide for themselves from within their Teams client.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope it has been helpful.
